This two-part webinar provides hands-on training for engineers and planners on how to effectively and safely design sites and driveways serving new and existing office and commercial development, taking into consideration the needs of all road users (motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists). It also provides a sound technical foundation for preparing materials needed to process development projects. Necessary tools and good practices for providing good on site circulation, from the perspectives of both the agency and the developer proposing the project, are covered. Part 1 will discuss on-site circulation issues such as site layout, drive through facilities and parking strategies. Part 2 will focus on access design issues such as throat lengths / widths, sight distance, speed change lanes and warrants.
This webinar will benefit transportation professionals (engineers and planners) who work for consulting firms, cities, counties, and state agencies involved in reviewing development projects. This course is designed for individuals with and without background or training in designing commercial and office type development projects.
"It is a great format. It allows many of us to gather in the conference room during lunch hour to attend the seminar in a very efficient and limited timeframe. The hour length is fantastic. It fits into our brown bag lunch seminar plan."
"In an environment where time management is so crucial, it is wonderful to be able to attend a meaningful seminar with such little ancillary time commitments such as travel and coordination. My compliments. ASCE has found the perfect seminar format for today's busy professional."
